Partnerships
Partnerships are governed
under the Partnership Act 1996.
In addition to generally accepted provisions for partnerships, the Act
makes specific provision for local and international limited partnerships.
A limited partnership may not carry on banking, insurance or trust company
business, and an international limited partnership may not own real estate
in the BVI or carry on business with persons in the BVI, subject to exceptions
similar to those in the International Business Companies Act.
A limited partnership
must have a registered agent in the BVI and be registered with the Registrar
of Limited Partnerships. A registration fee of US$500 and an annual license
fee of US$500 are payable to the BVI Government.
