Offshore incorporation

Offshore incorporation is relatively straightforward to implement, once the client has established their requirements, and confirmed that it is appropriate for them in their situation. Most clients involve their professional advisors in this process.

What benefits accrue from an offshore incorporation?
An offshore incorporation can derive substantial benefits for the client, and these benefits are wide-ranging and diverse, depending on the individual circumstances of each client. The benefits may include avoidance of regulations in other countries, the maintenance of confidentiality for a number of varied reasons, and the reduction or elimination of taxation, depending on the specific circumstances in each individual case.

Tax and incorporations offshore
An IBC incorporated in the BVI is legally exempt from all taxes and charges levied by the BVI Government, other than payment of it's annual licence fee, which is US$300 for a typical IBC.
The extent to which an IBC is subject to, or exempt from, the taxes of other countries will depend on the specific circumstances in each individual situation.

Offshore incorporations services and confidentiality
The basic offshore incorporation services are the initial setting up of the company, maintaining a registered office in the BVI, and providing a registered agent in the BVI. A full range of additional company secretarial services are available form Caribbean Corporate Services Limited, including the provision of director(s), either corporate or personal, and the provision of nominee shareholders.
Offshore incorporation, specifically an IBC incorporated in the BVI, offers a higher level of confidentiality, in that the names and details of the directors and shareholders of the IBC are not filed with the Registry of Companies. Additionally, the registered agent in the BVI will not give any information to a third party unless specifically authorised by the client, or required under the provisions of internationally accepted exchange of information agreements.

Other frequently asked questions about incorporating an offshore company, or offshore incorporation services.
Is incorporating an offshore company, and specifically an IBC incorporated in the BVI, the right thing for me? - The answer to this question is entirely dependent on the individual circumstances of each client, and generally speaking, clients should confer with their professional advisors in their home country in order to establish whether an offshore incorporation is right for them.
