About the British Virgin Islands

Due Diligence Requirements

New clients

For the proposed BVI company:

  • Information, and documentation if available, describing the intended activities of the company
  • The source of any funds or assets which are to be held by the BVI company.

For each beneficial owner of the proposed BVI company:

  • Full name
  • Permanent residential address - both mailing and street address, if different
  • Background information (this may be in the form of a C.V.)
  • Copy of a government issued identification certified as a true copy by a notary public
  • Copy of utility bill as proof of address certified true copy by a notary public
  • A reference from a professional advisor (outline pro-forma attached)
  • A reference from a recognized bank
  • Confirmation of professional tax advice from accountants or tax lawyers and that the beneficial owners are aware of the tax consequences of having beneficial ownership in a foreign corporation
